Petition to Save Marriage

About the Petition:

The recent ruling that legalizes homosexual marriage in California should sound the alarm for citizens across the nation to support a Federal Marriage Protection Amendment. Following the California Supreme Court ruling—that ignored the majority of California residents who supported a marriage protection amendment, the White House issued a statement condemning the actions of the High Court:

“It’s unfortunate when activist judges continue to seek to redefine marriage
by court order – without regard for the will of the people. Today’s decision by
the California Supreme Court illustrates that a federal constitutional amendment
is the best way for the people to decide what marriage means.”

Given such attacks on the state level, it is clear that no state marriage amendment or law is secure, and only a Marriage Protection Amendment to the U.S. Constitution will effectively defend marriage from the onslaught of these tyrannical courts!

The message from California Supreme Court is clear, now it is time for grassroots Americans to respond by sending a strong message to our lawmakers on Capitol Hill …

Grassfire is urging all members of our team to take a stand to protect and preserve the sanctity of marriage, our children and families in America by signing our national petition. We are eager to present this petition to key members in Congress demanding a constitutional amendment to protect marriage. Make a stand with us to SAVE MARRIAGE by signing the petition and then alerting your friends to follow your lead.

The Petition States:

Our laws should send a positive message to our kids about marriage and family. It is only common sense that marriage is between a man and a woman. As a concerned citizen, I am deeply troubled by the aggressive effort under way to redefine marriage for our entire society.

In order to save marriage, I urge our leaders in Congress to move quickly to pass a Federal Marriage Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. In addition, when the Federal Marriage Amendment passes Congress, I urge my state leaders to move quickly to ratify the Amendment.
